Serie A, also known as Serie A TIM, is located at the top of the Italian Football League system and first began in 1929. Considered by many as one of the best leagues in the world, the professional league has been around for more than eighty years. Numerous European Cup Finalists have derived from Serie A along with the league having been ranked 5th among the overall European leagues. Currently, it is ranked behind La Liga, English Premier League, Bundesliga and Primeira Liga.

The league possesses three of the most well-known soccer clubs in the world including; Juventus, Milan and Internazionale. These are all founding members of G-14. Serie A was alone in being a league which produced this many founding members.
